Grown by smallholder farmers in Murang’a County, this AA washed lot comes from New Irati Factory, established in the 1970s on the fertile slopes of the Aberdare Range. Managed by the Kangiri Farmers’ Cooperative Society, more than 650 active members cultivate Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28, and SL34 at 1,600–1,750 meters above sea level. New Irati benefits from one of the most ideal coffee-growing climates in the world. The region’s volcanic soil, cool climate, and steady rainfall allow cherries to ripen slowly, producing the hallmark vibrant, complex profile that defines Kenya’s finest coffees.
