About:
Reaching up to 2,280 masl. and too high to be ideal for coffee cultivation, Tamiru Tadesse took a chance when he founded Alo Coffee in 2020. With increasingly warm temperatures due to climate change, Tamiru was betting that the village would soon be in a good climate for growing coffee. And so, it was when in 2021 an anaerobic lot from Alo placed in the Cup of Excellence tasting competition. He works with 60 farmers at the main washing station in Bembe. Committed to the local community, Tamiru reinvests profits into initiatives like a school and seedling nursery, providing quality bonuses during cash-strapped seasons.
