This washed AA lot from Gathaithi Farmers' Cooperative Society showcases the vibrant clarity that has made Nyeri one of Kenya's most celebrated coffee regions. Grown at 1,720 MASL in fertile red volcanic soils, predominantly from SL28 and SL34 varieties, cherries are carefully sorted, fermented, washed and dried on raised beds to preserve sweetness and structure. The result is a bright, elegant cup with vibrant cranberry acidity, soft honeydew sweetness and a delicate stewed pear finish, a classic expression of Kenya's finest high-grown coffees.

Flavour notes: Cranberry, Honeydew, Stewed Pear

Origin Story

Established in 1970, Kiandu Coffee Factory has grown alongside the farming families of Nyeri County and today represents more than 1,500 smallholder producers. Most members cultivate small plots of around half an acre, growing coffee alongside food crops that support their households.
Beyond producing exceptional coffee, the cooperative invests in the long-term wellbeing of its members through access to farm finance, school fee assistance and emergency support. Sustainable farming practices, including tree planting and responsible water management, help protect the fertile volcanic landscape that has made Nyeri one of Kenya's most respected coffee growing regions.

Process & care

Our sourcing philosophy

Every coffee has a story. Every cup connects people. Sourcing coffee is not just about logistics and contracts. It’s about people, patience, and purpose. Every bag of green coffee represents someone’s work, someone’s story, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Our relationships are built at Origin. We create partnerships built on respect, shared goals, and good coffee. We believe the best coffees come from long-term partnerships. Many of our producers have worked with us for years, refining the characteristics of the coffee we seek. These relationships are built on mutual respect and open communication. Travelling to visit our producing partners is key to nurturing relationships that matter.

Consistency and quality

From origin to roastery, every step is about consistency. Every shipment we receive is cupped and compared against its pre-ship sample to confirm that the coffee matches the quality and profile we expect. It’s a process that demands time and focus, but it’s what ensures every batch of Deluca coffee delivers on flavour and reliability.
