This Washed Special Prep lot from Chelchele in Yirgacheffe showcases the floral elegance and vibrant fruit character that have made the region world renowned. Grown at 1,900 - 2,400 MASL, heirloom Ethiopian varieties are sourced from a select group of smallholder farmers and processed separately to preserve exceptional quality. Careful washing and slow drying on raised beds produce a cup of remarkable clarity and balance. Expect juicy blueberry sweetness, bright mandarin citrus and delicate Earl Grey aromatics in a refined and expressive cup.

Origin Story

This coffee comes from Chelchele Washing Station, located in the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee growing regions. Smallholder farmers cultivate coffee on tiny plots, often alongside food crops, before delivering ripe cherries to the washing station for processing.
For this Special Prep lot, only the highest quality cherries are selected and processed separately from standard production. Combined with Yirgacheffe’s high elevations, organic farming traditions and diverse heirloom varieties, the result is a coffee that captures the floral, citrus and tea like qualities that have made the region famous among coffee lovers worldwide.
