This anaerobic natural cold fermented lot from Alo, Bensa offers a lush, aromatic cup shaped by altitude and careful handling. Grown at 2,400 MASL from JARC 74158, select cherries are fermented at low temperatures to slow microbial activity, allowing sweetness and florals to develop gently without harshness. The result is a silky, expressive profile - tropical fruit depth, rounded berry richness and lifted rose aromatics. A modern interpretation of Alo’s terroir, crafted with intention by Tamiru Tadesse and his wife Messi.

Origin Story

Alo Coffee was founded by Tamiru Tadesse, a former university lecturer and electrical engineer, and his wife Messi, after years spent working within Ethiopia’s coffee sector. The turning point came in 2020 with Ethiopia’s first Cup of Excellence, proving that exceptional quality could be recognised and rewarded. In 2021, a carefully processed lot from their home village of Alo in Bensa won the country’s inaugural CoE. Today, Alo Coffee focuses on traceable micro-lots, long-term farmer relationships, and thoughtful processing — including patient cold fermentation — to share the full potential of Sidama’s highest-grown coffees.

Our sourcing philosophy

Every coffee has a story. Every cup connects people. Sourcing coffee is not just about logistics and contracts. It’s about people, patience, and purpose. Every bag of green coffee represents someone’s work, someone’s story, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Many of our producers have worked with us for years, refining the characteristics of the coffee we seek.These relationships are built on mutual respect and open communication. Travelling to visit our producing partners is key to nurturing relationships that matter.

Consistency and quality

From origin to roastery, every step is about consistency. Every shipment we receive is cupped and compared against its pre-ship sample to confirm that the coffee matches the quality and profile we expect. It’s a process that demands time and focus, but it’s what ensures every batch of Deluca coffee delivers on flavour and reliability.

Shipping & Dispatch

We offer flat-rate shipping across Australia and free shipping on orders over a certain value (shown at checkout).

Orders are shipped on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

Orders placed by 2pm on Monday and Wednesday will be shipped next day, otherwise your order will be sent on the next shipping day.

We ship via Australia Post.

Parcel Post usually takes 2 to 4 business days after dispatch.

Express Post usually takes 1 to 2 business days.

Regional areas may take a little longer.
