This natural lot from Kibingo Washing Station in Burundi delivers a lush, fruit forward cup with vibrant tropical character and gentle structure. Grown at 1700- 1900 MASL, Red Bourbon cherries are handpicked and fermented with controlled yeast before slow drying on raised beds for 2-3 weeks. This extended drying allows sweetness and clarity to develop while maintaining balance. The result is a bright, expressive profile layered with juicy tropical fruit, soft acidity and a clean, lifted finish.

Origin Story

Kibingo Washing Station serves over 1700 smallholder farmers across 18 surrounding hills, with most producers cultivating small plots of Red Bourbon trees. Coffee is central to daily life here, with families handpicking and delivering cherries for careful processing.
The station is equipped with extensive drying infrastructure and supports farmers through access to seedlings, organic fertiliser and agronomy training. Managed with support from Greenco, Kibingo focuses on improving quality, traceability and long-term sustainability. These combined efforts continue to elevate Burundi’s reputation for producing clean, sweet and increasingly distinctive coffees.

Process & care

Our sourcing philosophy

Every coffee has a story. Every cup connects people. Sourcing coffee is not just about logistics and contracts. It’s about people, patience, and purpose. Every bag of green coffee represents someone’s work, someone’s story, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Our relationships are built at Origin. We create partnerships built on respect, shared goals, and good coffee. We believe the best coffees come from long-term partnerships. Many of our producers have worked with us for years, refining the characteristics of the coffee we seek. These relationships are built on mutual respect and open communication. Travelling to visit our producing partners is key to nurturing relationships that matter.

Consistency and quality

From origin to roastery, every step is about consistency. Every shipment we receive is cupped and compared against its pre-ship sample to confirm that the coffee matches the quality and profile we expect. It’s a process that demands time and focus, but it’s what ensures every batch of Deluca coffee delivers on flavour and reliability.
