This natural lot from the Karana community in Kintamani, Bali offers a bright, layered cup shaped by volcanic soils and careful drying. Grown at around 1200 masl from S795 and Kartika varieties, ripe cherries are sorted and dried whole to develop sweetness and fruit clarity. Anaerobic fermentation during processing deepens the fruit character while maintaining structure. The result is a lively profile with juicy raspberry, fresh citrus lift and a delicate green tea finish that reflects the vibrant terroir of Bali’s highlands.

Tasting Notes:  Raspberry, Orange, Green Tea

Origin Story

Karana represents a community of 377 smallholder farmers in the Kintamani region of Bali. Rooted in Balinese Hindu traditions, the farmers follow the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmony between people, nature and spirituality. Coffee is grown alongside oranges, vegetables and other crops, supporting biodiversity and farm resilience.
The farmers prioritize sustainable practices, using composting, shade trees and minimal chemical inputs. Through shared processing and community collaboration, the Karana group produces distinctive coffees that showcase the character and growing reputation of Bali’s Kintamani region.

Process & care

Our sourcing philosophy

Every coffee has a story. Every cup connects people. Sourcing coffee is not just about logistics and contracts. It’s about people, patience, and purpose. Every bag of green coffee represents someone’s work, someone’s story, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

Our relationships are built at Origin. We create partnerships built on respect, shared goals, and good coffee. We believe the best coffees come from long-term partnerships. Many of our producers have worked with us for years, refining the characteristics of the coffee we seek. These relationships are built on mutual respect and open communication. Travelling to visit our producing partners is key to nurturing relationships that matter.

Consistency and quality

From origin to roastery, every step is about consistency. Every shipment we receive is cupped and compared against its pre-ship sample to confirm that the coffee matches the quality and profile we expect. It’s a process that demands time and focus, but it’s what ensures every batch of Deluca coffee delivers on flavour and reliability.
